Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user Satan.

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username Satan?

Satan:

"I joined Newgrounds way back in mid 2000, originally, but I had (and still sort of still have) a bad habit of changing my mind about the username I chose, so I inevitably made thousands of accounts, and lost most of them after a year or two, if you want any prime examples of my name changes, check out my accounts Kawaii, and Con.

The origin of my current username, Satan, comes from the biblical name for the devil, and I chose it mainly out of irony, and out of the fact that I know some people find it offensive. As for the reason of joining.. I'm not too sure really, I always lurked around Newgrounds while in school, and I guess I just decided "Why haven't I signed up yet, I could be criticising peoples work, and helping them improve upon it somehow"."

Do you think that you changed over the time you were here, as user, or also in real life?

Satan:

"Yes, definitely, I've always been pretty quiet around Newgrounds, on my current account, up until recently, but over the years, the Newgrounds community has impacted me, somehow. I guess that you lot made me be a bit more creative, and also made me appreciate Flash animations, and games. As for Newgrounds impacting me outside of the internet.. I suppose it has, in a way, I've appreciated crude/dark humour a lot more since I joined Newgrounds, but I suppose you get that wherever you go online, so I suppose Newgrounds played a role in a much larger scheme of things."

Are there any other users that you like, and how do they affect you?

Satan:

"I like everyone to some degree, you're all pretty cool people in your own ways. If I had to narrow it down though, I like Slint, and exudaz a fair bit, considering Slint has a pretty good sense of humour, and exudaz just seems to make posts on the BBS that are rather funny now, and again. I like Ali, as well, but I met him outside of Newgrounds, and he never logs in anymore, so I can't really say much about him."

Are there any users that you would consider enemies or that you just don't like?

Satan:

"Not really, I like everyone on Newgrounds, thus far."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

What is your opinion about the forums? Is there one forum that you prefer? And is there another forum user that you want to see getting interviewed by me?

Satan:

"I like the forums a lot, it's the only thing I really bother going on Newgrounds for anymore, considering that the Flash animations nowa' days are mostly popculture related, and I don't understand the latest fads very well, most of the time. I mostly lurk around the General, and occasionally the Politics, and Video Games section, as I have interest in both of those subjects, but the General is my true home, on Newgrounds, considering you get a happy mix of everything. I'd like to see Slint get interviewed, if he hasn't been already."

guess that you have an opinion about the moderators of Newgrounds. Do you think that they do a great job or not?

Satan:

"Some moderators do a great job, other moderators do a shit job. Just like with any other site. You get some mods who enforce the rules fairly, and are slack with them when it's required, and then you get the other group who go 100% out with the rules, and will ban you if you speak in profanity, for example, and then you get the worst kind of moderators. The ones who bend the rules for people they like, and people they dislike, I haven't come across any, yet, but no doubt I will sooner or later."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Would you like to become a moderator on Newgrounds? If so, what kind of moderator?

Satan:

"Not really, I've moderated a lot of websites over the years, and it isn't a fun experience, the vast majority of the time. I hate having to stick within a set of rules, constantly, and I dislike having to ban other users, no matter how much trouble they cause. The other issue I'd have is the amount of messages moderators often get from people, that usually say "please unban me", can get pretty irritating after a short period of time."

You were a member before the redesign 2007. Tell me how you experienced Newgrounds back then and what changes you liked about the redesign.

Satan:

"I actually prefer the redesign (yes, I am serious), the only feature I miss is Turd Of The Week, but I do understand why it was removed, it encouraged shitposting, and it just took up valuable space in the portal. Newgrounds way back in 01, and 02 was amazing, with the amount of traffic we got coming in, especially for a website back then, you'd be lucky to get a few hundred hits a day, let alone over a thousand. It probably had a lot to do with Tom getting into shit with the BBC, over his teletubbies game, though. I find it pretty funny how peoples morbid curiosity always gets the better of them, and they just have to see what the big deal is."

The redesign happened last year. Tell me what you think about it. What do you like and what is not so good?

Satan:

"As I said above, I like the majority of the redesign, but the portal feels a bit empty, and broken, as of late, I only ever see the famous people get frontpaged most of the time, as well, now, which is pretty sad, considering the site motto is "Everything by everyone". I'd delve deeper into this, but there's nothing that hasn't already been said regarding who gets frontpaged, and who doesn't, so it'd be pointless even mentioning it."

Recently the under judgment system was changed, so that stuff can get blammed or passed faster. What do you think about this change?

Satan:

"Not too bothered about it, I think it will probably improve the quality of the content on site though, which is something that I always welcome. I rarely vote on submissions anymore, considering I spend most of my time within the BBS. I guess that this question doesn't apply to me a great deal."

You have some.... nice red shades. What is the meaning of them?

Satan:

"Vnzi was making them for people, and I asked her for some. I don't think anyone else even wears them on their avatars anymore, but I'm keeping them, because why not, eh? This submission, by Havegum will explain it a lot better than I ever could:

Origin of the shades"

On Deviantart, you posted some nice photos of a lake, a waterfall and a forest. Which was the most peaceful and fascinating place you ever visited?

Satan:

"Easiest question of the lot; Goathland, which is a place up in North Yorkshire, UK, in fact, it's where those photographs were taken, with my shitty mobile phone. I've been going up there ever since I was about a year old, and I go a few times a year to get out of the way of everything for a few days. Only reason I haven't moved there is because the houses cost an arm and a leg."

It seems like you like foxes. Tell our readers why you like foxes. Tell me your thoughts about the tibetan fox.

Satan:

"I like them for a whole range of reasons, but probably the biggest one is the fact that they're incredibly unique, and misunderstood animals. Plus, they're pretty fucking adorable, if you ask me, I mean, come on, who couldn't love something that looks like that? As for tibetan foxes, they're pretty badass, but I'm a bigger fan of the red fox, and the arctic fox."

Every person has secrets. Can you tell one of yours or something else that we didn't know about you yet?

Satan:

"Sure, why not. It's nothing big, or important, but I can speak Finnish, and I refurbish, and custom build old games consoles, for the fun of it, and my current project is a chiptune gameboy, which I will hopefully start building within three months. I don't really have any big secrets that are interesting to anyone."

What can we expect from you in the future, Satan?

Satan:

"I'm not sure really, we'll see what the future brings us, shall we? The only thing I plan on doing is translating a book from Finland called Habbo Kasikirja, for a friend of mine, but even then, I just plan on doing it, so whether I actually get around to it or not is a whole other question, really."

Interview with Satan

Posted by Asandir - September 16th, 2013

Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user Highway.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username Highway?

Highway:

"My memory isn't the greatest but I do know that I found Newgrounds around late '07 or early '08, so I was 15 at the time and it was around the time I moved to my current residence in Ohio from Texas. And the only reason I did find this site was from wanting to whack off to shitty porn games such as Frank's Adventure, Dress My Babe, and all of those really bad dating sims. I know it's quite embarrassing but it's the truth. Unfortunately I signed up way past Newground's prime. Believe me, I would have loved to have found this site earlier. But I couldn't because I actually didn't get a computer until I was 11, and even then my dad needed it for work. I guess an 2008 sign up date isn't too bad? Staying with a website for 5 years is pretty good if you ask me.

As for my username, well, when I first started browsing the web, I didn't really have an alias. I was just lurking around as an anonymous number. But when I did eventually sign up for this site my name originally was HighWayStar365, and the only reason for it is because I was playing the original Rock Band game and one of the songs on there was Highway Star by Deep Purple and I thought "I quite like that". Added the 365 because HighwayStar was already taken. Why did I capitalize the W? I honestly don't know or remember. Ask me 5 years ago if you want an answer to that one."

Do you think that you changed over the time you were here, as user, or also in real life?

Highway:

"Oh most definitely. I think you would be a liar if you say Newgrounds hasn't changed all of it's users at least a little bit. I mean look at me, I used to be the kid who would post something like "teh sex0rz" and now I still kind of post the same thing but it's all coated in a layer of irony.

But Newgrounds really did help me mature (surprisingly enough). Like I said before, I found the site a little before I moved from Texas to Ohio. Moving across the country is hell, and I basically had to start a whole new life. Going into 8th grade and high school not knowing a single person in town is really alienating. You feel left out of things because you don't have those ties that all of the others have because they grew up together. And that's what attracted me to the forums; people from all walks of life together as one. It wouldn't matter if you're a fisherman in Taiwan, the Sultan of Brunei, or a kid who just moved to the Midwest and has no friends, like me! Here, everyone is community."

Are there any other users that you like, and how do they affect you?

Highway:

"There are a few users that I like, not like it means much. Most of the users that I am friends with are barely active anymore, but there are a few who do post once in a blue moon, like Wegra, Gagsy, and Bees aka Twilight (although I'm sure he would object to me being his friend). Most of the people I used to roll with have either went to Reddit or 4chan or some other forum that aren't as dull as a bucket of warm wallpaper paste.

Speaking of websites that as dull as a bucket of warm wallpaper paste, I run a forum with my good pals Grub-Xer0 and SteelChair called Teh-Non. It's a bit of a ghost town at the moment but it's a cool little site to check out if you want to see three dudes just get bored of with a site and do whatever with it."

Are there any users that you would consider enemies or that you just don't like?

Highway:

"Enemies? No, not at all. There are certainly people that I don't care for, and I really don't want to go into name names, but I wouldn't call them enemies. I mean it's inevitable that you're not going to like someone who uses the same website as you do. If you stick a bunch of people in a room together some people aren't going to get along. It's just human nature."

Highway:

"Like I said in my first answer, I found the site past, what I think, was it's prime. Now it's getting dangerously close to it's expiration date. The only reason it's still on shelf is because the workers keep changing the expiration date sticker. Sure it has it's charm, but it's more of a "oh you used to be cool" kind of charm. Most of the forums are now a collective circlejerk. Just groups of friends jacking each other's dicks off.

I prefer to post in the video games forum, even though I don't do it much. It feels like a better place because it doesn't have as much riffraff as the general forum does. But if I want a quick giggle or to get really depressed or angry, I'll just go to the general forum. I used to be a forum sig maker and was fairly active in the clubs n' crews forum, but now I rarely make sigs or even enter that forum. All the others I never visit."

I guess that you have an opinion about the moderators of Newgrounds. Do you think that they do a great job or not?

Highway:

"I wouldn't say that they're doing a great job, but rather just a job. I think Luis said something like "the moderation here is a broken system, but it's a human system, and that's what works the best for Newgrounds.". The fact that it's not robots doing everything, but rather actual humans makes the site a much better for it. Plus real people are way funnier than robots. It's been proven by science."

Would you like to become a moderator on Newgrounds? If so, what kind of moderator?

Highway:

"I think everyone wants to be a moderator at one point in their life on a website, and I'm not going to lie but I wanted to become one as well. But now that I've thought about the logistics of being a forum moderator, it sounds like hell to me. I mean to me, being a mod is sort of like being in the 5th grade and all of the regular users being in the 4th grade. The 4th graders look up to the 5th graders but in reality, the 5th graders are just like the 4th graders, only they have more stuff to worry about. Also, being in charge of a site that has, I think, has somewhere around 3 million users would be insanity. It would be like trying to babysit an infinite sea of misbehaving eight-year-olds. Don't get me wrong, I love running the little forum I have with my friends, but we get about one post every two or three days, if we're lucky. It's much less of a hassle to handle three people than it is to handle 3 million. Let's be real here."

The redesign happened last year. Tell me what you think about it. What do you like and what is not so good?

Highway:

"I really like the redesign. It looks great and works fantastically. But I will always have that nostalgia for the old design. I really do miss my wrench level icon. But the past is the past and nothing can bring it back, unless they somehow find a way to chose what site design you want. That would be pretty cool. The admins should work on that rather than whatever the hell they are doing."

I heard that you like racing games. Which one was the first that you played? Do you prefer racing games that are more realistic, arcade racing games or games like Mario Kart? Is there an upcoming racing game that you are looking forward to?

Highway:

"Believe it or not, the first racing I played was actually the very first game I ever played. It was LEGO Racers for the Playstation 1 and I have some great memories with that game. Especially the music. It had some of the most fun music of any game I've played in a long time. That game just makes me smile. It's probably one of my favorite games I played when I was a kid.

I lean a little more towards the realism side of the racing genre, but I do love arcade-like games from time to time. Something that makes you have a big, dumb smile and have fun. But something that is more like a hardcore racing simulator, such as the Gran Turismo games, also excites me. Something about the realism and authenticity of all the action feels strangely good. You would expect something designed to be so realistic to be frustrating but weirdly enough it feels right in a car game. Maybe it's because I really like cars.

There are a lot of new racing games coming out for next generation consoles which kind seems kind of odd to me because I don't remember that many racing games coming out so close to launch of this current gen of consoles. But then again I don't remember much of anything from seven years ago. I'm obviously excited for Gran Turismo 6, which is unfortunately coming out for the Playstation 3 and not the Playstation 4, but that's another discussion for antother day. Other than that none really peak my interest."

You play Pokémon games. Which game was your favourite so far? If you could build a team out of all the known Pokémon, which ones would you choose? What is your opinion about the upcoming Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games?

Highway:

"My favorite would probably be Heart Gold / Soul Silver, preferably Heart Gold, followed very closely by Black 2 / White 2. I did really like BW2 and it was an all around solid game. However, having your Pokemon walk with you adds a whole new dimension to the game. It may not add anything mechanics-wise, other than it may pick up items from time to time, but it makes it easier to form connections with the Pokemon in your party rather than have them be just isolated in little balls. Plus nostalgia is one hell of a drug.

The problem with "building a team" is with the whole meta game. You can't just pick your favorites and battle. Especially if you expect to be good. There are tiers of Pokemon and move sets for the pokemon in each tier and it gets really confusing really quickly. But if we are going on favorites, I would have to pick my trusty team which consists of: Snorlax, Latios, Swampert, Infernape, Staraptor, and Scizor.

My opinion of Pokemon X and Y greatly depends on how close to getting a 3DS I am. Right now my feelings are "I really want this but there is no real way I can get it.". I mean the game looks super fantastic and is probably going to live up to the hype, but they say too much hype is a dangerous thing. Hopefully this won't kill the game for me. There have been many a time when hype suckered me into buying things. All of that money wasted."

I know that you watch Let's Plays. What do you like about Let's Plays and do you have favourite gamers whose Let's Plays you watch?

Highway:

"For me, let's plays are a way for the viewer to experience the game along with the player. It's also a way to connect with the player. When I watch certain players, it feels like I'm sitting on the couch with them, but they're wearing headphones and can't hear me. I also like let's plays because I can use it as a preview to see if i would like the game or not. I can think of a few games I bought after seeing some let's plays with it. But on the reverse of that, there are also games I didn't buy because I already watched someone play through it and now I don't need to waste $60.

One of my favorite let's players would have to be Jesse Cox from OMFGcata. One of the funniest guys I've ever seen and he's a lore super nerd, which is good because I am a bit of a lore geek as well. I've also long said that he's also the hardest working in the business. Just an all 'round cool dude."

Every person has secrets. Can you tell one of yours or something else that we didn't know about you yet?

Highway:

"I've only recently gotten back into anime. I'm so ashamed of it because kids from my generation basically grew up on animes like Pokemon, Dragonball Z, and Transformers. I mean I watched Cowboy Bebop for the first time last week. I still have yet to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion and all of the other animes everyone says is amazing."

What can we expect from you in the future, HighWay?

Highway:

"The fact that you have expectations of me is really flattering. I wanted to get to 10,000 forum posts before the end of the year. Obviously that isn't going to happen. But I do eventually want to hit the magical number to see what all the fuss is about. So expect me to keep posting until I get to 10,000 posts, then I may just stop. It's all I really want from life."

Interview with Highway

Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user YellowisCOOL.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username YellowisCOOL?

YellowisCOOL:

"I remember discovering NG in early 2010, when I was 11. I loved the games and movies of NG. One of the first games I remember playing was Johnny Rocketfingers, and I remember watching The Last of the Dashkin too. I created an account a few months later as the user Ottergirl23. I didn't do much on the account and it was quickly forgotten about.

I then made this account, YellowisCOOL, a few months later in November. I named my account YellowisCOOL because my favourite colour back then was yellow."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Do you think that you changed over the time you were here, as user, or also in real life?

YellowisCOOL:

"I think I've changed a little. I've become more mature and a little bit more cynical on NG over the years. But to be honest, it's not too hard to be cynical once you've been on here for a while. I don't think I've changed too much in real life, but I have become a little more mature, maybe a little more emotional. I don't really know."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Are there any other users that you like, and how do they affect you?

YellowisCOOL:

"I guess I don't really have friends, but there are users that I generally like. Such as: Mizzjuicyflava, TheBiocide, chluaid, Ladibug and more. I do have one friend on NG who I'm actually friends with in real life, and her name is littlecheekypuppys, but she doesn't use NG any more. They don't really affect me in any way, I just think they're great users."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Are there any users that you would consider enemies or that you just don't like?

YellowisCOOL:

"I don't think I have any enemies, maybe some people consider me an enemy, but I don't know. Basically, if you be nice to me I'll be nice to you. Also, people on here probably consider me a prick since I'm quite young, but I really don't care about them."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

What is your opinion about the forums? Is there one forum that you prefer? And is there another forum user that you want to see getting interviewed by me?

YellowisCOOL:

"I think the forums are a bit messed up to be honest. I do enjoy posting in the BBS, but some of the things that the people say/post are a bit weird most of the time. My favourite Forum is probably General because it's more active and there are more topics to talk about. I also like the Writing and Video Game Forums. They're more sensible and it's easier to get an opinion across. I also think it'd be interesting to interview Mizzjuicyflava."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

I guess that you have an opinion about the moderators of Newgrounds. Do you think that they do a great job or not?

YellowisCOOL:

"I think that the moderators do a pretty good job. I don't get annoyed at them for doing their job or anything like that. Of course, I've been banned a few times, but I guess I deserved it for posting in spam threads or just posting silly things in general. I have nothing against them."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Would you like to become a moderator on Newgrounds? If so, what kind of moderator?

YellowisCOOL: "Nah, I'm not interested in becoming a mod. It'd be interesting seeing from the perspective of a mod though, seeing what you could do that other users couldn't and such. If I were to become a mod, I'd probably be a Review mod. Since I've been banned on the BBS a few times, I don't think I should be a BBS mod. Being a Review mod is probably easier, and I sometimes flag reviews anyway."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

The redesign happened last year. Tell me what you think about it. What do you like and what is not so good?

YellowisCOOL:

"I actually really like the re-design. At first I was like, "What the fuck is this? What's happened to Newgrounds?", but it was pretty easy to get used to. I like how it's fresh and modern, and I also like the new Emoticons. It's also very easy to navigate. I just don't like the new level icons or how there is no Userpage Header anymore."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Judging from your newsposts, it seems like you are interested in writing a book. When did you find your passion for writing? Which authors inspire you the most? Which books re your favourites?

YellowisCOOL:

"I've been writing for pretty much most of my life. I used to write little books with illustrations in them and give them to my parents when I was younger, same with comics. I just love to write and get creative, and right now I'm working on two different story ideas. I don't really have any favourite authors, but I'm really enjoying the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson at the moment."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

You like the Grand Theft Auto series. Which one is your personal favourite, and what do you like about the series in general? Also, are you looking forward to GTA V, and if so, what announced features do you anticipate the most?

YellowisCOOL:

"My favourites are San Andreas and Liberty City. I haven't played San Andreas much, but it was great for the amount I played, and I have Liberty City on my iPod Touch (I don't have any game consoles). I'm not interested in playing GTA V or any other GTA game because I have no game consoles, and my parents probably wouldn't let me get it anyway. I like how it's a really good sandbox game."

You stated your interested to travel to Europe in the past, which countries in particular are you most interested in visiting?

YellowisCOOL: "I'm very interested in traveling around the U.S.A as well as Europe. I would definitely travel if I had the opportunity. They're just such interesting places to go, they're probably very beautiful too. Plus, a lot of my favourite music artists live there."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Pokémon seems to be a series that you are interested in. When did you discover Pokémon and what do you like about it?Which Pokémon has in your opinion the most interesting design? Also, do you own Pokémon merchandise?

YellowisCOOL:

"Pokémon is something I've grown up with. Pokémon is just awesome and creative, and I love the video games. Mudkip is my favourite and I have a few figurines too. I used to have a ton of Pokémon games on my GBA and GBC that I used to own."

Every person has secrets. Can you tell one of yours or something else that we didn't know about you yet?

YellowisCOOL:

"Well, I'm a Type 1 Diabetic, and I've had it since I was 7. I've had it for 7 years."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

What can we expect from you in the future, YellowisCOOL?

YellowisCOOL:

"More BBS posts, maybe more News Posts, maybe more art. I'm not sure about my future on NG."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Interview with YellowisCOOL

Posted by Asandir - September 2nd, 2013

Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user littlegonkyboy.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username littlegonkyboy?

littlegonkyboy:

"Well, I discovered NG in 2004 when I was 10-11 but at the time I didn't had a internet connection (I was on public school computers when i discovered it) also... making an account at 10-11 years old age on NG it's like saying "hey guys look at me I'm a 11 year old who discovered NG for the first time" and we know how it ends with this cases (you know.. insults and stuff like "GTFO of the internet child")"

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Do you think that you changed over the time you were here, as user, or also in real life?

littlegonkyboy:

"Yep, I changed, when i signed on NG (2011) i was depressed... bad at school, depressed, insulted by friends and generally kinda odd, but when I failed my exams strangely I changed, the next year I restarted the 4th grade in my school and I began to study more often, my votes uprised, I started to become more happy and I began to socialise more with the new people I met, so yes.. in real life I changed much.. but on NG.. I feel like the same.. I have never been a great poster in the past and I'm still like that."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Are there any other users that you like, and how do they affect you?

littlegonkyboy:

"Well, users that affected me... in the past that was this "girl" called Rivergrey, I was a great friend with her, we chatted and stuff, but then when she died ("she" posted it in her page) I was very upset, she kinda affected me, but then someone discovered it was a fake account and with sadness arrived rage.. so yes "she" was one of the users that affected me in the past. anyway other users that I like are Skaren (we talk on Steam sometimes), EmmaVolt (where are you Emma??? we chatted on Skype, now you're vanished) and... I don't know there are so many!"

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Are there any users that you would consider enemies or that you just don't like?

littlegonkyboy: "Well, not enemies in the literal way, but as trolls there is somebody (let me list them):

mandog: stupid troll who posts senseless stuff that I find annoying.

GhostWriterNext: furry who's obsessed with bad writing, shitposting and stuff, not that annoying but somekind.

e102delta1379: sonic fag who's obsessed with Sonic, swears for nothing and I generally hate him because it's the typical case of DeviantArt fag who posts Original Characters (recolors) of Sonic claiming that they are original...90% of Sonic fanbase is like this guy."

And is there another forum user that you want to see getting interviewed by me?

littlegonkyboy:

"The forums... these days like some people say.. they are pretty empty and with boring posts, also the users who frequent them are too few (OMG NEWGROUNDS IS DYING !!!!!111!!!), anyways I like to lurk in General and Videogames section, also NG is not dying... it's just in a depressed phase.. maybe if we update it with cool stuff (not shit like the games factory 2 or Html5 support, those things ruined NG more than benefiting it) somehow it will attract new users.

Also, some users that you can interview?? Amaranthus,NuScarab,Vnzi,TheShadling,PainBringer?? i don't know so many users, sorry :-("

Do you think that they do a great job or not?

littlegonkyboy:

"Opinion about Moderators? I've never had problems with moderators so I can't say certainly if they are good or not, but you know.. I think they do their job but sometimes they are a bit lazy (it happened sometimes that stupid threads didn't get deleted)"

If so, what kind of moderator?

littlegonkyboy:

"It would be good to become a moderator but I don't stay so much on NG,so as a moderator I can't do so much because I'm always offline (UltraBear I'm talking to you).. anyways if I become a moderator I would like to become a forum moderator.

What do you like and what is not so good?

littlegonkyboy:

"I personally liked the redesign, I was very happy to see the new design with new cool features and the return (even if for a day) of many old users, I know many people hated it because of its flashy style and stuff, but personally I liked it.

The only thing that I don't like are the level icons, it looks like they ripped them from a Final Fantasy SNES game, also they are bad in general."

In 2011, you released some stick animations. When did you start animating? Are you planning do release more flashes in : the future?

littlegonkyboy:

"I started animating during the spring of 2011, when I was depressed and I didn't want to spend time studying for school, so for passing time I began doing those animations just for fun and I don't think I'm going to do more of these now, I stopped losing time making bad animations (I mean look at it, the sticks are badly animated, also some asshole schoolmates looked at them and said.. "you must have no social life")"

Judging from your art, you seem to be a fan of Homestuck. Describe Homestuck to our readers and what you like about the series.

littlegonkyboy:

"Fan? Well not so much, I started reading it just because Vnzi (NG user) suggested it to me, at first I was reluctant because she said it was complicated (time shenaningans, complicated storyline) but you know.. it wasn't that complicated after all, when you start to read it with interest it's pretty easy and time shenaningans aren't even complicated to understand, but now that I have to read 5 pages everyday (updates) I read it with no more interest I mean.. there's a big difference between reading 100-200 pages everyday and 5 pages everyday, you can't be satisfied from a book by reading 5 pages per day.

Also.. what I like about the series?? the story and the characters, it's also a webcomic full of references (movies, games etc..) but I can't understand many of them because I've never seen the movies or games that have them. describing it.. well:

4 boys receive a game called SBURB and when they begin to play it stuff happens, the earth is destroyed and the kids are teleported in 4 planets in the game, their objective is to recreate the universe and ascend to GodTier status, but in the same time a group of 12 trolls from a failed session (they are aliens called trolls) begin to troll the kids to make them "fail" but in the end they become "friends" when they first meet. Ican't say all the story because I can spoiler something. Ihis is the beginning (well not the beginning.. when they meet it's the half of the comic......... and half of the trolls are dead... BWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WHYYYY :°°°°-((( sorry if I spoilered"

You live in Italy. What do you think about your country, what do you like and what bugs you about it? If you had to live in another country, which one would you choose and why?

littlegonkyboy:

"About my country? Italy, it's one of the most beautiful states for Arts and Archeological stuff but the worst for politics and managent of properties like industries. We have industries that fail because of bad management and crisis politics that spends public money to go on prostitutes and to eat in costly restaurants. We have the worst case of bigotry in the world and the most retarted electors who always vote the same idiot that ruins Italy every year and you wanna hear something funny? That idiot got arrested for fraud but the idiots wants to free him."

In 2012, you spent your holidays in Sardinia. Tell our readers about your favourite moment(s) of this vacation.

littlegonkyboy:

"I always spent my holidays in Sardinia, but if you want to hear about this one I'll tell you. That year we gone late in Sardinia because our grandmother had an health problem (RIP) but when we gone I wasn't happy at first because I always tought about her, but the worst thing was that everyday there was bad weather in Sardinia, so we couldn't go to the sea... yeah I have to admit, those weren't my best vacations, the only thing that I enjoyed was to watch movies on the notebook and the start travel (I always liked to go on ships, especially when you have a cabin)"

littlegonkyboy:

littlegonkyboy:

"Well.. I hope to stay more on NG, and I hope to go well in university (I start this year in September maybe) also, I want to become a progammer (videogames and stuff) and I hope to succeed with it. ( Yeah I know that indie programmers many times remain unknown, but I want to try.. also no worries, I'm not going to come here to NG to post about my game kickstarter if I'm going to do it, or at least I'm going to post it if I make a decent game.. too many shitty flash games programmers use kickstarter just because they want money)"

Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user Tony-DarkGrave.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username Tony-DarkGrave?

Tony-DarkGrave:

"2003 I tried signing up and it was screwy so said forget it! I joined in 06. Tony Darkgrave is a slight change from an Alias used by one of my favorite VG characters."

Tony-DarkGrave:

"YES! I blame Newgrounds for turning me into the cold cynical bastard that I am accused of being. I am actually quite nice in real life out of courtesy being given to me, but ask me about my views on the world,it's pretty cynical. I am kind as long as you return it ( golden rule!)."

Tony-DarkGrave:

"Alot of them are old users who were here when I first signed up, the current user base is just kinda bleh. Though I do like Sekhem, Gagsy, Themason and Bumfodder."

Tony-DarkGrave:

"There are quite a few I dislike but I still enjoying bantering and arguing with them , especially on certain subjects. I won't name names."

Tony-DarkGrave:

"The forums have degraded ever since I joined 05/06, it just got bad in 08. Now I go there just for fun and to argue but the discussion of the userbase has greatly decreased in subject matter and quality. I mostly haunt Politics and Video Games. It's where I post the most."

Tony-DarkGrave:

"Meh. A few of them are dicks that will ban you for shit reasons, but most of them are cool. I just wish a certain one would stop ruining my fun."

Tony-DarkGrave:

"Probably not due to the fact I would have to do work and deal with people's drama."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

You were a member before the redesign 2007. Tell me how you experienced Newgrounds back then and what changes you liked about the redesign.

Tony-DarkGrave:

"I like the old pre-06 design, I like the 07 design too the the level Icons were awesome."

Tony-DarkGrave:

"I don't like the level icons, make the current ones with the 07 design and it would AWESOME. And make User Icons 90X90."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

You are a Newgrounds Supporter. Do you think that it would be a good idea to give supporters acces to more options to customize their userpage or other features?

Tony-DarkGrave:

"I have 2 Supporter Upgrades, from 2012 and 2013. Give us a Supporter Forum, maybe Motion signatures or extra stat points maybe."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

I think you are a fan of Marvel Comics. What was the first Marvel Comic that you read and who is your favourite character? What is your opinion on the Marvel movies and which one do you like the most?

Tony-DarkGrave:

"OH SWEET NOSTALGIA! It was way back when I was 9 maybe 10, I went to the local comic book store and I picked out a X men and Weapon X. But now I am into Deadpool, Walking Dead ( I have a HUGE COLLECTION of Walking Dead!), Avengers and Hawkeye."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Recently the 12th Doctor has been revealed, Peter Capaldi will take over the role as main character of the series Doctor Who. Do you like this choice? Which of the past Doctors do you like the most?

Tony-DarkGrave:

"I don't know him, bring back David Tennant! He was the longest running Doctor and he was just awesome. Matt Smith as the Eleventh was kinda bleh as a Doctor, his performance wasn't as good as David Tennant and Tom Baker. Bring Back David Tennant!"

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

You play video games. If you look at the last 5 years, which video games do you think were the most influential and brought the most positive changes to the video game market?

Tony-DarkGrave:

"I wouldn't be able to say I like to say RPGS. Final Fantasy is the Gold standard in that department. For I would also have to say for developers it would be Square Enix and Bioware and Microsoft bringing out great games."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Bioshock is listed as one of your favourite games. Tell me your thoughts about the first two Bioshock games.

Tony-DarkGrave:

"I used to be into Bioshock but after 2 it was just meh for me."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

What is you favorite Video Game Series?

Tony-DarkGrave:

"Final Fantasy, Mass Effect and Devil May Cry. Final Fantasy was my Childhood if you want to know, I own physical copies of ALL FINAL Fantasy's from the PS1 and 2 of all games (I have 1- 13 and all sequels and Compilation of VII). Then there is Mass Effect you get to make your own Badass Shepard then you run around the galaxy determining its fate and making hilarious decisions with Garrus? PRICELESS! I also own all DLC for all the Mass Effect Games. then there is Devil May Cry, Dante the All Mighty Badass!"

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Tell me about one game that you were looking forward to but that disappointed you.

Tony-DarkGrave:

"FFXIII. I am not going to elaborate because you can just read my forum posts."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

What is the Dumbest thing you've done?

Tony-DarkGrave:

"Hehe well besides speeding? Going over 60 on gravel roads and fish tailing into the ditch. Last winter I nearly froze to death TWICE when I got stuck in the snow ( I live in Minnesota), the winters can be brutal. when I was little I jumped off the dock at the lake and nearly drowned"

Every person has secrets. Can you tell one of yours or something else that we didn't know about you yet?

Tony-DarkGrave:

"You know those songs you listen to in the car when no one is around and its only you, sometimes I put in Green Day."

What can we expect from you in the future, Tony-DarkGrave?

Tony-DarkGrave:

"The same thing as today, don't get your hopes up."

Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user yurgenburgen.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username yurgenburgen?

yurgenburgen:

"Sup. It was in 1999 or 2000. I was bored on the internet while watching Robot Wars on TV. They had a robot called Sir Killalot, so I typed in www.killalot.com to see what would come up. The site was made by a guy called sheepfecker, and his page had links to various NG games like "Kill the Backstreet Boys" and "Kill the GAP kids". At first I thought he owned NG as well, it didn't occur to me that it was a different owner or anything.

The name "yurgen burgen" came from school. We were in English and had to write a letter to/from Polish prisoners of war and sign it with an Eastern-European-sounding name. The guy next to me wrote Yurgen Burgen and I thought it was funny so I stole it and started using it in chatrooms and so on.

In the past I have claimed to be the inventor of the name Yurgen Burgen but it was actually the guy I sat next to.

Also I am aware that "Yurgen" should begin with a J, not a Y."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Do you think that you changed over the time you were here, as user, or also in real life?

yurgenburgen:

"Not in any major way. Aside from the obvious changes that come with growth and just "getting older", but I am basically the same person now (age 26) as I was when I was a child.

Around the time I discovered NG (age 13 or so) I hated everything in life. I still do, but back then I had less of a say in the matter. So my only escape from the bullshit and torment of everyday shittery was through creative means. Animation has never been a talent of mine but I have always liked drawing and painting, and when I discovered NG it seemed to perfectly capture the rebellious teenage spirit that most of us have at some point.

So I suppose it stood out to me because of the creative DIY aspect of the whole thing. Like I said, I still feel basically the same way about everything in life as I did when I was a kid. You can call it immaturity or whatever but yeah."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Are there any other users that you like, and how do they affect you?

yurgenburgen:

"Slint and Natick have good taste in music.Bees and saqwert are hilarious. Amaranthus is a bro. I am in love with BoredLooney, one day he will be my bride.

I wouldn't say any of the users I like "affect" me in any way... I just like them. I get along with a number of people in the chat as well."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Are there any users that you would consider enemies or that you just don't like?

yurgenburgen:

"Chdonga.HollowedPumkinz.Insanctuary and his myriad alt accounts.

Reasoning: They post their nonsense in the forums and then avoid taking responsibility for it when called out. If you question their bullshit you are met with outright avoidance and logical fallacies. It's basically like talking to a government employee."

And is there another forum user that you want to see getting interviewed by me?

yurgenburgen:

"The General forum is great because it has a mix of serious and ridiculous topics. It's basically a hangout for insane people. And there is usually something being discussed that I can reply to, whether it be serious or not. When I get home after a miserable day at work the first thing I do is go into the forums/chat and zone out. It's like going into a bar and knowing everybody that is in there.

I want you to interview saqwert if you haven't already done so."

Do you think that they do a great job or not?

yurgenburgen:

"Most of them are great. I seemed to get banned a lot more often before the most recent re-design.EyeLovePoozy is a joke of a human being. Absolutely no respect for him or anyone remotely like him, in real life or otherwise. I encounter shitheads like him on a daily basis and they are all basically bone from the neck up."

If so, what kind of moderator?

yurgenburgen:

"No, that's not something I am interested in. I imagine it would take a certain kind of mentality to moderate a site like NG... something like supervising a load of deranged children. No thank you. I also don't think I could force myself to give a shit about peoples' trivial concerns."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

You were a member before the redesign 2007. Tell me how you experienced Newgrounds back then and what changes you liked about the redesign.

yurgenburgen:

"Well I can tell you what I don't like: The absence of front-page chickens. Although they disappeared before the 2007 redesign I think.

I'd say that the main change with the redesigns is that NG gradually cleaned up its image for the public and became less of a "let's murder celebrities" site and more of a "free tetris clone" site. Some people think that this is unfortunate and that NG has lost its rebellious 'punk' attitude and aesthetic but personally I don't mind.

To be honest I don't remember much about what I liked about the 2007 redesign. I was unemployed at the time and experiencing severe depression. So yeah."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

You are an artist and create sculptures, paintings and other things. When did you start making art?

yurgenburgen:

"For as long as I can remember. My grandfather on my mother's side is a talented painter so I probably got my interest in art from him. The first thing I remember drawing was an apple with some bite marks in it. I used to draw comics and show them to my grandparents and they would encourage me to keep doing it. So after school I would go round to their house and just draw and make things out of boxes until it was time to go home. I always just presumed that every other kid from school was doing the same thing. To me it seemed like 'making things' was something that you're just supposed to do. It was only about the age of 10 or so that I realised I could draw better than most other kids my age.

My parents have a drawing I did when I was about three. I don't remember creating the drawing, but the story goes as follows: I was drawing a boat in the sea, and the boat was sinking. There were people leaping out of the boat and trying to swim away. When my parents asked me what the drawing was I explained it to them. It was odd because the day I was born there was a huge ferry crash in the middle of the sea near England."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Can you name some famous artists that inspire your work?

yurgenburgen:

"Dali Warhol Lichtenstein Duchamp Genesis P-Orridge"

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Tell me about one piece of art in particular that you especially like, the background story of it and how you made it.

yurgenburgen:

"I haven't put a photo of it online, but I'll describe it: It's a sheet of black card with blue and yellow spraypaint streaks down the middle. There is a very crudely-painted rectangular man up the centre of the page with a smiley face. On his chest it says "It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society." The reason I consider it my best work is that at the time of making it I was in a seriously lengthy depressed state of mind, and I had spent about three days staring at the computer doing absolutely nothing. On my last evening before going back to work I kicked over a sheet of black card that happened to be on the floor and noticed the spraypaint streaks. I had used the bit of card in the past to rest a canvas on while spraypainting, and the streaks were the excess spraypaint left over. For some reason it meant something profound to me at the time, about "not giving up" or something along those lines."

Back in 2008, you published 2 short stories as newsposts. Have you since then wrote more stories and maybe even published some of them? If we ever get a literature portal, would you post your stories there and what features would you like to see in a Newgrounds Literature Portal?

yurgenburgen:

"I don't write very often. I have no gift for writing. If we get a literature portal I might submit some of my insane writing I produced many years ago just for the fun of it. But I have no plans to write more in the future."

You recently started to release Mario flash games that are similiar in nature to Kaizo Mario. Do you plan to make more games like this in the future?

yurgenburgen:

"No. I'll probably make another game at some point which will be brutally difficult and irritating but it won't be a Mario game."

You are currently living in Canada. How different is it from living in England?

yurgenburgen:

"My main concerns in life have always been oriented around what kinds of people I am going to have to associate with. People ask me often if I find Canadian weather hard to get used to, but in all honesty I don't think about the weather at all because I hate being outside regardless of what country I am in.

Canadian life is more laid back. I don't have to work as hard and I get paid more. Canadians are easily manipulated compared to the British. British people are aggressive and confrontational. I certainly don't miss living in England. However, getting things done to a decent standard and within a reasonable time frame is not an option in Canada; people here are just idle."

In one your posts you stated that you have lucid dreams regularly. Could you tell us about the most interesting lucid dream you had?

yurgenburgen:

"There are several, but the most vivid one was as follows. I work in a hotel (IRL) so I dreamt I was in the back of a taxi on my way to work. Looking out of the taxi window the sky was a strange orange colour. I realised that I could change the colour and hue of the entire sky by thinking about it. If you have ever played Final Fantasy VII, you can change the colour of the menus in the game by increasing/decreasing the different colours, and you end up with a strange yellow/green/red pattern. That is basically what I was doing with the sky.

When I arrived at work (in the dream), I knew 100% that I was dreaming and that I had full control over what I was doing, so I decided to go from room to room seeing what was going on inside each room. One room had two women smearing chocolate all over each other. I went in another room and looked at myself in the mirror. Someone IRL had told me that it's impossible to see your own reflection in dreams. I knew that this was bullshit, but in the dream I decided to prove him wrong. So I spent some time making faces in the mirror, and it was exactly like in real life.

I have lucid dreams all the time but they generally result in me sexing people up. The hotel dream happened to be one of the more vivid ones that didn't result in sex."

Every person has secrets. Can you tell one of yours or something else that we didn't know about you yet?

yurgenburgen:

"I strongly dislike being in/around cars. I can't stand driving and when I am out of the house I make a conscious effort to keep myself away from all vehicles, including ones that are parked and locked. If I have to cross the road I will often sit on a bench and wait until there are no cars at all before getting up and crossing the road, because I feel like someone will slow down to let me cross and then deliberately run me over."

yurgenburgen:

I am also dealing with some serious stuff in my personal life which will be revealed when it's over and done with. I can't go into detail on that right now but when it's done and dusted I will make it public."

Interview with yurgenburgen

Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user Rad.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username Rad?

Rad:

"I found NG back in 04 or so, looking for cool flash games and I eventually signed up because I felt like I was sinking a lot of time in and missing out on those sweet exp points that I couldn't collect since I wasn't a user. Originally my name for 8 years was "TheRadicalOne" and that was inspired by a webcomic I loved at the time, Kid Rad by Dan Miller and a java game "Need For Madness" where The Radical One was one of the best cars in the game. I just changed it to Rad this year because I felt like I was growing up and it was high time to shorten the name."

Rad:

"Oh definitely, I feel like growing up on Newgrounds got me into art as a result and led me to study it in college, as well as become proficient in programs like Flash, Photoshop, Fruity Loops and learn how to create things on computers in general.

I feel like Newgrounds gave me a ton of perspective on my life and how other people live theirs, before NG I can't say I had ever spoke with an English person before, or learned about so many different world views. I also got into the indie game design scene as a result when I learned that lone individuals and small teams can indeed, make games."

Rad:

"Just a few, I met a lot of talented people on NG and even when they left the site we still stayed in contact via Skype or Steam.

I really shouldn't name names, but...

Sonicmega - Sean really introduced me to the world of voice acting, not that I'd want to do it professionally, but the seeing the industry from his perspective was pretty enlightening.

Jesse Lutrzykowski - who had an NG account at one point but is still really close to me and is always inspiring me to do more musical stuff.

There are a TON of other people, I mean a lot, from Ragnarokia all the way to Joelle but if I went on, I'd spend all day on this."

Rad:

"Not really, there are a few people I dislike or just flat out ignore but It's not really a big deal, on a website with hundreds of other people to talk to."

Rad:

"Extremely toxic, literally the reason I paid ten dollars for a Something Awful subscription. Turn around, walk away, never look back.

... Oh wait! That is only general, the forums dedicated to the creative process like Flash or Programming are infinitely better."

Rad:

"I don't really know how to express myself here, I spent like 20 minutes looking at the question and then feebly dragging my fingers across the keys, before erasing it all and trying again and again.

I believe that at the end of the day, a moderator is just another person like me behind a keyboard somewhere. Everyone is different and every moderator carries different temperaments, their own interpretation of the rules and their own pet peeves. I can't really say if the mods in general do a great job or not because I barely interact with them! I've never had a problem with the flash or audio portals, I stopped posting on the BBS entirely, instead opting to visit Something Awful when I want to chat with other people about banal internet shit. That only leaves the NG chat, the newest feature and the one I feel the most invested in.

The Newgrounds Chat has a handful of moderators that we see on a regular basis, and for the most part, I like it that way. I dread every time we get a new mod because I know sooner or later we're going to get the NG Chat equivalent of EyeLovePoozy, a mod who delights in banning people and is a borderline sociopath. It seems like when someone gets a moderator position on Newgrounds, it's like the supreme court, they're on for life. No amount of protest or complaining will unseat them, and why would it? The only people who complain are frustrated 13 year old kids who just got banned and nerds like me who are always concerned about the health of the place they're popular on.

TL;DR: I think the chat mods are okay, but it is extremely easy for one person to change that and that scares me."

Rad:

"I wouldn't like to become a mod, I mean dealing with the eternal flow of upset users on the site must be what's considered a hobby in some circles of Hell, but I would moderate the chat. It's really the only part of the site I'm active on and the one I'm most invested in. I'd like to see more mods that are patient, try to help improve the userbase and make the chat a fun place to talk, and you know the saying "if you want something done right, do it yourself.""

Rad became a chat mod not even one week after the interview was made ^^

You were a member before the redesign 2007. Tell me how you experienced Newgrounds back then and what changes you liked about the redesign

Rad:

"Newgrounds back then seemed livelier, more productive and the hub for animation on the internet back then, but I was also around 15-16 during that period so I probably just look fondly upon those days by default. I liked the redesign because it added support for video files, but aside from that, I seriously can't remember what else the redesign brought in! I remember hanging out in the Paltalk rooms with Wade and everyone else waiting for the redesign to go live.

The new layout looks nice though."

You are an animator. Tell our readers when you started animating and what projects we can expect in the future from you.

Rad:

"Shoot, I remember getting interested in flash animation years ago when I started visiting Newgrounds, and telling everyone in my middle school about how this was "the future of animation" and "how this will change everything." I don't think I spent nearly as much time animating as I did hyping up the potential though, and I made a bunch of dumb little flashes for me and my friends. I think I was practicing with Flash for about 3 months before my first animation got accepted into the portal and when it finally happened I just totally flipped out, getting into the portal was the best feeling ever back then.

As for new stuff I'm currently a background artist for TheMajormel and his new game that he is working on, Arcade Quest. I'm a bit reserved about the project though because he doesn't have many completed games out yet, but I'm glad to support him."

You are regularly using the Newgrounds Featureless chat, what do you think about the chat and its userbase?

Rad: "Although it was created as a joke, I think the chat is one of the best community features on the entire site. The moderators and userbase are nothing like the BBS counterparts and it's just a far better place to frequent. I wouldn't give it up for the world and if the chat was ever dismantled you'd see a lot less of me around Newgrounds."

In 2009, you stated that you want to be a video game designer, is that still the case? If so, what did you do to get closer to this goal?

Rad:

"Well I madeone game last year,Prime Wing, and I'm spending my oh so precious free time helping out Mel with graphics in his game, but sadly I don't think I'll be able to live the dream as a full time indie video game dev myself. Since I'm working and trying to make money outside of that and all..."

Every person has secrets. Can you tell one of yours or something else that we didn't know about you yet?

Rad:

Interview with Rad

Posted by Asandir - August 5th, 2013

Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user Sense-Offender.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username Sense-Offender?

Sense-Offender:

"I first found out about Newgrounds when I was probably about 12 years old (I'm 23 now and will be 24 on August 31st). An old friend of mine was telling me about a series called Perfect Kirby by Pikanjo, and he showed me the first episode or two. I thought it was pretty funny at the time. So, I decided to check out the site when I got home and saw the games. Then, I noticed the adult content, and 12 year old me was pretty interested. I remember being really into the games Ronin: Spirit of the Sword and Samurai Asshole. And I loved the Retarded Animal Babies Series.

I didn't become a member of Newgrounds until I was 15, though. My original screen-name was Fumetsu316 (stupid name, I know). Then, I changed it to -Fumetsu-. Before the previous redesign, which I think was coming about when I was 16 or 17, if I recall correctly, the admins wanted to make sure that the users understood that we wouldn't be able to change our usernames at will anymore once the redesign came about (we used to be able to change them whenever we wanted). I think it had something to do with our names being in the URLs for our pages. So, I decided to give the name some more thought. At the time, I was a massive fan of the movie Equilibrium, starring Christian Bale (I still like it, but I thought it was one of the best things ever back then). The movie is about a dystopian society where the citizens are not allowed to feel emotions and are legally required to take drugs that inhibit them. Think the Giver meets the Matrix. Those who do not take the drugs and enjoy the arts or any kind of particular luxury beyond the norm are called "sense offenders". That's how I got the name."

Sense-Offender:

"Yes, definitely. I used to be kind of a crap poster, and I was a bit of a weeaboo. I was also reaaaaally easily flame-baited and would go on childish, profanity filled rants that made me look like a fool. I also liked a lot of shitty music. And despite the fact that I've always been perfectly literate, I wouldn't bother to use capitalization, or sometimes even proper punctuation.

Yeah, I was a shit poster.

As a person, I've also changed. I'm not as quick to judge people, I think, and I've mellowed out a bit. I think some of my personal views have changed a bit as well. For example, I used to think all drugs were bad and you should never even try any of them no matter what they are. I was also vaguely spiritual, like I believed in spirits and "the other side" and stuff, but not really anymore. And I don't get excited about hentai games anymore like I did when I was 12-13. lol"

Are there any other users that you like, and how do they affect you?

Sense-Offender:

"Sure, there are plenty. I've added lots of them as favorite users. ElGhoulio, HeavenDuff, Viper, Murray, VicariousE, Jay11 (awesome sig maker), and several others are on there. There are lots that don't post anymore, though, like Goatchrist, Nev, D3NTATUS, PenisClown, Idiosyncratic, ShitOnAStick, BillPatton, and a bunch of other users. They were cool people.

How do they affect me? I dunno, they just make the BBS better and make good conversation, or in some people's cases, crack me up. Some of them have also introduced me to a lot of good music, especially ElGhoulio and Idiosyncratic."

Are there any users that you would consider enemies or that you just don't like?

Sense-Offender:

"Enemies? On an internet forum? Nah. But there have always been users that I think are idiots, jerks, or just generally crappy posters. I mean, who doesn't think Wriggle is a moron? And this may be hypocritical of me a slight bit because I've been guilty of being insulting, condescending, and making fun, but there is a certain user who frequents the politics section who is simply incapable of showing any slight bit of civility in any discussion whatsoever. Some people act like a dick now and then, but being a dick is all this guy knows. I mean, tone it down, man."

What is your opinion about the forums? Is there one forum that you prefer? And is there another forum user that you want to see getting interviewed by me?

Sense-Offender:

"The BBS has its pros and cons. There are some good users and there have been a few amusing discussions, even though there is also a lot of shit posting. I prefer the clubs and crews section. That's the main thing that's kept me on the forums, especially the Metal Hell. I also check in on the Cinema Club, the Doctor Who Crew, and the Anime Club. Honestly, though, the Anime Club isn't at all what it used to be. It was better when people like Gendo, Kuro, Mendou, Kisuke, MrTrivia, HaroFreak, WonkotheSane, MattTheParanoidKat, etc. were frequenting it. I could actually get into the discussion then. These days, I hardly ever have a clue what people are talking about, and they mostly talk about the kind of anime that doesn't interest me at all. There's nothing wrong with the users, I just had a lot more interest in that thread a few years ago. But yeah, my biggest reason for sticking around on the forums is the Metal Hell. It has been since I was at least 17, maybe 16."

I guess that you have an opinion about the moderators of Newgrounds. Do you think that they do a great job or not?

Sense-Offender:

"I'm not sure. The way the mods handle things has definitely changed. They used to ban people a lot. I think it was pretty easy to get banned a few years ago. Now, they're quite lenient. I think it makes sense given the current state of the BBS. It's not even remotely close to as active as it used to be, so I guess it's understandable to let some stuff slide. At least people are posting, right?"

Would you like to become a moderator on Newgrounds? If so, what kind of moderator?

Sense-Offender:

"Nah. I'm active enough, but then, I'd probably have to be a good example and be careful not to be a hypocrite and ban people or delete posts for things that I end up doing. Plus, what would I get out of it?"

You have been here long enough to witness 2 redesigns. Tell me your favourite and most disliked changes for both of them. Also, what changes would you like to see in the future?

Sense-Offender:

"I like this design the best. I just think it looks good, and I like that we can have our own icons now. I don't like how small the level icons are now, though, and I don't like that they got rid of the ability to add banners to our pages. One change I'd like to see in the future is Tom expanding on advertising and hopefully getting more people to come here. I also still want the guys who made Abobo's Big Adventure to make a sequel. >:("

You are watching a fair amount of tv shows. Which one is currently your favourite?

Sense-Offender:

"Well, there are quite a few that I consider to be my all time favorites, but that's listed on my page. What I've been really into lately, though, are Fringe, Copper, and Orphan Black. I just saw the season finale of Orphan Black and it turns out the show won't be back until next June, I think. Copper just came back, though. I haven't started watching it yet, but I have it on the DVR. I was on a break from Fringe, but I plan to get back into it. And I'm looking forward to the return of the Walking Dead and Doctor Who."

I see that you are a fan of the Elder Scrolls series. Tell me for each game that you played of the series what you liked and disliked about them (feel free to rank them but you don't have to). What do you think about the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online game?

Sense-Offender:

"The first Elder Scrolls game I played was Daggerfall, which I played before Morrowind was made. I thought it was really cool at the time, but I can't remember much. I was pretty young. I liked the scenery of Morrowind, but it hasn't aged well graphically. Something that it has that Oblivion and Skyrim don't have is more freedom with your equipment. You could have two separate pauldrons (or just one), different grieves from your cuirass, and even two different gauntlets and two different boots. And you could put regular clothing on underneath the armor and robes on top. They also had spears. The settings for Oblivion and Skyrim weren't nearly as exotic and alien looking as Morrowind, which was something that I really liked. This also goes for the creatures. You had giant mushrooms, giant flying magic jellyfish (betty netches and bull netches) and a big ass volcano in the middle of it all.

However, I still think Oblivion and Skyrim are both better than Morrowind overall because the gameplay is better. In Morrowind, simply hitting your enemy doesn't mean that...you hit them. It'll say "*miss" a lot if your skill level in whatever you're using isn't any good. What they should have done instead was make the damage extremely low and slowly get better over time as your skill increases. I remember going back to play Morrowind after a long time of playing Oblivion often and I couldn't get into it anymore. It used to be one of my favorite games, but it hasn't aged well at all. Yes, the later games are "dumbed down", but in a lot of good ways, even though I admit they were also dumbed down in some not-so-good ways.

Also, Morrowind didn't have fast travel.

As far as the Elder Scrolls Online, I'm not sure what to think. When I first heard about it, I really didn't care, but maybe it'll be cool. I just don't really play online games. I don't even play computer games beyond flash games. I know it will also be on the X Box One and PS4, but I don't think I'm really interested in playing online on those, especially since you have to pay. Plus, I still have to resolve the issue of internet not working in my bedroom. All I can do is use the 4G on my phone."

Interview with Sense-Offender

Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user Archonic.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username Spretznaz?

Archonic:

"I’ve known about NG ever since Numa Numa came out, actually. I just never decided to check the site out until 2011, when I was linked to it from some random flash on the web and noticed that there was actually more to it (the site, not the flash) than stickfights and other shit. As for the username, let’s just say that I used to be a huge Call of Duty addict, and I had no idea how to spell “Spetsnaz”."

Changed his username to Archonic

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Do you think that you changed over the time you were here, as user, or also in real life?

Archonic:

"Sure. I mean, I signed up a little over a year ago, and let’s just say that a shitton of stuff’s happened, both online and irl. For one, just take a look at my posts back when I signed up-then look at them now. It might just be me being egotistical, but I think there’s definitely a difference there."

Archonic:

"I chat almost every night with the old Blessedsin crew, namely Lionelion, e-lord, satanbrain, Laughingbox and beardkiller, and they’re just a great group of people, period. Other than them, I’d like to give a shoutout to my EGB buddies Decky, Chrausner and gamejunkie, as well as pretty much everyone who used to post regularly in the now-dead Bat Crew, who are all amazing and part of the reason I just can’t leave this site."

Archonic:

"Enemies, no. There isn’t really a single person on NG that I “don’t like,” per se. I mean, if someone constantly acts like an idiot, then I’ll just start taking him/her less seriously for obvious reasons. But no, I definitely don’t consider anyone an “enemy.”"

Archonic:

"Well, if I didn’t like the forums, what am I even doing answering these questions? :P I mean, obviously you really can’t take them (General) seriously, but even so, as I’ve said a couple times already, the place is just too good to leave. As for the actual forums, I like General, Where is/How to?, Clubs and Crews, and to a lesser extent Politics. And for future interviews, I’d say pretty much anyone I mentioned up above would be a good choice. I guess if I wanted to see one in particular, though, I would think that either satanbrain or Chrausner would make a very interesting interview, to say the least."

Archonic:

"Usually no, I don’t have a problem with them. Honestly this is the only forum I know of where the mods don’t constantly abuse their power and turn the place into a survival-of-the-fittest style wasteland. But then again, one or more of them have ticked me off before, for various reasons. I’m just not the type to hold grudges with people on the Internet, though."

Archonic:

"I’m not crazy about it, to be honest. I just don’t need yet another responsibility (yes, that’s how I see it) on top of my ever-growing pile of seriously-more-important obligations. I guess if circumstances changed, then I’d be open to the idea, but as of now it’s a solid no."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

You are a member of the Elite Guard Barracks. What are you doing for the group and how did you become a member?

Archonic:

"Nowadays, the Barracks seems to be full of people who basically just want to help keep the flash portal clean and free of crap, sometimes literally. :P When the whistle was removed in the redesign, the EGB was, for a time, the only way abusive stuff could get reported, so I think that at least slightly increased the amount of posting in there. And as for [b] how I joined, it’s pretty much spelled out in the original post, with the added requirement of a silver whistle or higher. Oh, and if anyone’s on the fence about joining/posting there, don’t be shy, we love fresh meat!"

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Taking a look at the flash portal reveals that nowadays more and more days pass by where no flashes get blammed. Where do you see the reasons for this?

Archonic:

"The B/P system, which I’m sure pretty much everyone knows by now, works in such a way that flashes only get blammed if enough people vote on it accordingly (read-0-1). Since basically nothing’s getting blammed, people obviously aren’t doing that. It might be some super secret save-spamming group (lmao), it might be that most people don’t care enough to vote properly and just 2 everything, or it might be something else entirely, I have no idea. Besides, with the current direction the site is going, I really don’t see it changing anytime soon."=

Archonic:

"I definitely like the aesthetic feel as a whole, which all in all was/is a huge improvement with the old design. Otherwise, there’s still too many long-standing bugs and such that I’ve gotten tired of (no whistle, special characters on the BBS, etc.) While pretty much everything introduced by the staff since then have been amazing improvements, I would think that fixing old stuff would be a tad more important than completely new stuff."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Many changes have been implented after the initial redesign last year, including more social options. What kind of changes would you like to see in the future?

Archonic:

"Apart from the old bug fixes I’m still waiting for (see above), I prefer to basically sit back and be surprised, I don’t doubt that anything to come won’t majorly improve the site, even if it’s just minor."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

On one of your newsposts you state that you are a "diehard Packers fan". When did you start watching American Football? Did you ever watch a match live or do you plan to do so?

Archonic:

"A very early age, that’s all I can really say. And yes, I’ve gone to quite a few games live. I’m sure quite a few people here would agree with me when I say that going to a game live is completely different than watching it on TV."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Something that interests me... your usericon is Monokuma from a videogame called Dangan-Ronpa. Why did you choose it as user icon?

Archonic:

"Eh, I found the thing in someone’s fan translation on another site (It only came out in Japanese, iirc). The game itself didn’t interest me much, but the bear’s design seemed neat, so yeah."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Every person has secrets. Can you tell one of yours or something else that we didn't know about you yet?

Archonic:

"I go to the Summerfest music festival in Milwaukee every year (it’s going on right now). I’m also skinny as hell and just can’t bulk up for some reason. And yes, I lift (or try, at least :P) ."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

What can we expect from you in the future, Archonic?

Archonic:

"Just me being me, pretty much. Maybe one day I’ll get off my arse and try flash or something, but probably not. Either way, I sure as hell won’t be leaving this place anytime soon."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Interview with Archonic

Posted by Asandir - July 22nd, 2013

Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user koopahermit.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username koopahermit?

koopahermit:

"I've been on Newgrounds for a long time watching movies and playing games, but i never made an account. I guess I was just too lazy to. Then, sometime last year out of sheer boredom of social isolation, I decided to finally make one to check out the forums since I had nobody to talk to. I chose the name koopahermit which is basically turtlehermit (master Roshi) combined with koopa, the turtle things from Mario. Koopahermit is a long going internet persona of mine and I've been using it for long time."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Do you think that you changed over the time you were here, as user, or also in real life?

koopahermit:

"Why of course. Let's see what the forums did for me. It has stripped me from any innocents I possessed left. It has driven me even further away from talking to people in real life, and it has drove me away from "normal" people so much that I find them disgusting. But in all honesty, this site has exposed me to new interests and new people and I thank it for that."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Are there any other users that you like, and how do they affect you?

koopahermit:

"Xenomit is probably my closest friend on this site. He's like the only person who ever sends me PM's. Sometimes I ask him for some furry porn, and occasionally we have some pretty deep conversations. He's also the first person I ever opened up my depression to. Natick surprisingly lives in the same County as me and we can relate to another when Minnesota has it's outbreaks of shitty weather. I also kinda like him cuz he's 3edgy5me. HomicidialFrog and Jester are also friend with me on steam, but all we do is just call each other nyuggah and faggot."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Are there any users that you would consider enemies or that you just don't like?

koopahermit:

"I tend to hate a lot of people in general, so instead of treating them all as individual enemies, I just jumble them in one huge pile and hate them equally as a whole."

And is there another forum user that you want to see getting interviewed by me?

koopahermit:

"The forums is a great place to be able to talk to people when you don't have anyone else to talk to. In fact, I've actually grown to the forums and I enjoy talking to people here more than I do in real life. I prefer general the most, mainly because I have no special talents and something like the art forum wouldn't suit me. I'd like to see supergandhi64 be interviewed. I don't care if he's cancerous spam to the forums or not, I just want to read what he's going to say."

Do you think that they do a great job or not?

koopahermit:

"The mods here aren't too bad, and most of them do a pretty good job. However sometimes BFP can lock an intense thread that could have resolved peacefully and ends up making it anti-climatic."

If so, what kind of moderator?

koopahermit:

"Personally, I wouldn't ever consider being a mod on newgrounds. Just one my pubic hairs is already strong enough to shut down an entire restaurant (stolen from Conal ) so I don't think the extra power would benefit me all that much. Even if I were to become a moderator I probably wouldn't do anything besides delete spam threads in the forums, and we already have many people doing that."

I am walking on thin ice with my guess but I think you like the Dragonball series. What do you like about Dragonball and what is your favourite moment of the series?

koopahermit:

"I'm a pretty large fan of the Dragonball series. The original Dragonball being my favorite, followed by Dragonball Z. I personally hate GT though. It's just some fan-made bullshit. I like Dragonball because it isn't just a fighting anime. It's a fighting anime with sci-fi, fantasy, and old perverts rolled into one masterpiece. My favorite Dragonball moment is probably when Master Roshi and Krillin stripped Bulma's shirt off to help Yamcha win his fight."

You are playing Team Fortress 2. When did you start playing and what do you like about it?

koopahermit:

"I started playing TF2 the day it became F2P. I always wanted to play it, but I was too cheap to purchase it. It has a different art direction than most of today's xX420REALISTICGRAPHICSXx first person shooters, and I like the variety of the weapons in the game. But, what I like more than the weapons and art direction, are the hats. There are lots of really BA ones like the samur-eye and fuukamigasa, and there are some really silly ones like the hot dogger, and the fro. I used to trade hats nonstop until the mannconomy became absolute shit with those key prices. Fuck you Long218."

The E3 happened some weeks ago. What do you think about the upcoming consoles Playstion 4 and Xbox One? Which video game release(s) are you looking forward to?

koopahermit:

"Being the Nintenerd I am, I'm most likely going to get the WiiU. New Smash Brothers, Pikmin 3, Windwaker HD, and don't forget, they're remaking motherfucking EARTHBOUND. For the PS4 vs. Xbox One debate, I'd say the PS4 is clearly the better console based on the E3 conferences. Games, price, exclusive 1960's Batman tv show skin, and the way they trolled microsoft with "Playstation 4 supports used games" made it entertaining to watch. I mean, what does the Xbox One have anyways? New Halo game running at a BLISTERING 60 fps? Bitch please, some 3DS games can run at 140 fps. Speaking of the 3ds, oh mah gawd Pokemon X & Y, holy shiet someone get me a new pair o' pants."

What can we expect from you in the future, koopahermit?

koopahermit:

"Expect me to continue being a contributor in the forums... and only the forums. I have no special talents what so ever. I can't draw, make music, operate flash or any of those things."

Every person has secrets. Can you tell one of yours or something else that we didn't know about you yet?

koopahermit:

"I'm currently in a deep depression right now. It started a few years back and it's been gradually getting worse since. It's not easy for me to even crack a plain smile. I really don't know the reason why I'm sad, and I don't have anyone that I can talk to about it. Maybe someday, I'll find the reason why I'm always sad and put an end to it. And don't worry, I don't cut, do drugs, or take those side effect ridden pills because of it. I don't think one should be dependent on something to be happy.

"I really do hope you get better, no one deserves to be depressed Well, actually, lots of people do, but you're definitely not one of them" - Xenomit"
