When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join?

XenonMonkey:

"I originally found Newgrounds back in either 2003 or 2004 when I was back in elementary school. I never really got into the site for a while. I would just visit every now and then to play some Mario-themed flash movies and games. After a few years, in early 2005, my friend from middle school reintroduced me to the site and showed me a ton of great games, like Pico's School and some early Madness stuff. I was hooked, and decided to visit every once in a while and check out everything on the front page. In May of 2007, I finally decided to join, so I could review some flash games and movies, when I eventually stumbled upon the BBS."

Do you think that you changed over the time you were here, as user, or also in real life?

"Back in 2007, when I joined, I was an annoying little bitch who idolized this MMORPG, MapleStory. I couldn't form a decent sentence on the internet to save my life, and I would overreact to everything people said that countered my idea. In fact, sometimes I would make posts that made little to no sense, attaching random pictures I found on the internet or drew in MSPaint.

"I like a good amount of users on here, to name a bunch: Klik, Ptero, Jolly, Rummy0, Sevkat, ihatesonic1, Domo, Dosensuppen, Tetros, Tateos and Spackled."

Are there any users that you would consider enemies or that you just don't like?

"I'm not a fan of Firewolf109, but I'm not going to get into that. I'm sure anyone who knows him would know why I wouldn't like him."

I guess that you have an opinion about the moderators of Newgrounds. Do you think that they do a great job or not?

XenonMonkey:

"I think some of the mods do a good job on NG. Though I can't really say, because I've never been what I would consider a real mod (Sorry Icon Mods). The forum mods seem to do a decent job of locking/deleting the threads that are blatant rule-breakers, but sometimes they're a bit too strict with what they delete. Like I said before, I don't know how difficult a review, audio, or art mod's job is, but it seems like I always wind up waiting forever for mod action on a flagged review or something along the lines of that."

You are an icon moderator. Do you like this activity or would you like to become also another kind of mod in the future?

XenonMonkey:

"I like being an Icon moderator, it's nice to know I can do something and have the slightest bit of power for all the time I've spent on here. I WOULD like to become a higher-powered mod at one point though. Preferably a review or forum mod, but I guess modship is reserved for some older users that may have been here much longer than I have. I guess I'd just have to wait and grow up some more if I wanted to be a mod."

The redesign is rumored to happen within the next months, are you looking forward to it? What kind of changes do you want to see?

XenonMonkey:

"I've been looking forward to the NG redesign for a couple years now. I had always wanted to see a dramatic redesign in process ever since I missed the last one. I just sort of logged in one day and saw how much changed thinking "Holy shit, what happened?". Since then, the current layout's gotten a little stale. If the new redesign actually looks like the unconfirmed preview I saw a while ago, I don't think I'll like it very much, but hey, all things need to change eventually or wind up dead.

I'm more interested in seeing a bunch of tweaks of some features here on NG, like an edit button on the BBS. Maybe some image/design changes, but nothing major, like a video portal, or a like/dislike system like Youtube swapped to."

Christmas will be there in a few weeks, a special time on Newgrounds. Are you looking forward to experience Christmas on Newgrounds?

"There's usually not much going on on Newgrounds around Christmas time. Maybe a few Christmas themed flashes and stuff, and probably a brief change to the icons we had last Christmas (The weapons with red ribbons tied on them and such). Though I WILL be looking forward to Christmas in general, because I'll be building a new computer then."

You have submitted 40 flash submissions to Newgrounds over the years. Would you consider yourself a flash artist? Is there a work that you are most proud of?

XenonMonkey:

"I wouldn't consider myself a very serious flash artist, but I suppose I would consider myself a flash artist anyway. Usually, when I make a flash, I'll just think "You know, it would be pretty funny if I made a flash where..." and then start to plan the details out in my head. Most of the flashes I make take about 20 minutes to an hour, but in isolated situations will take a few days, like StrawberryQuest. But typically I'll make something like my Fishing Simulator or more recently, my Gordon Freeman Soundboard."

You have your very own website, xenonmonkey.com. Can you tell us when the site was made and the history of the site? Does the userbase differ from the one of Newgrounds? And most importantly : What would you say when I ask you why someone should join the site?

XenonMonkey:

"I originally intended that website to be for my IRL friends back in late 2009, when I used fleeforum.net for it. I decided to link it to my NG page and see what would happen. Eventually, people from started visiting my forum and it was pretty cool. Then the Fleeforum domain died and I had to switch hosts to Forumotion. Eventually due to activity, Forumotion gave me a free domain, and more people started joining, like Jolly, GiveUpYourWaffles (Now Death), Ptero, Tetros, Coleco, Domo, and several more users. Originally, we would goof around with each other and have a pretty good time, but nowadays it's gotten a bit stale with a lack of users and some people have started to become irritated with each other, but we get a good time in every once in a while. I think we'd be better with a bit more activity.

I'm not going to say we're a totally bad-ass site site full of cool people, but if you ever want to check out a new, different, forum: Sign up."

"You can probably expect a good chunk of flashes that I'll make every once in a while, and maybe some more posting from me on the BBS, but I can't promise that. I don't usually plan things very far in advance, so everything I make or post is on impulse. So yeah..."
