I agree with what you said about groove metal. Nobody knows what "real metal" is; it's all subjective. Metal elitists are the worst.

My knowledge about music in general and metal in particular is fairly limited. What I can say though is that I appreciate it when a clear melody can be heard as opposed to what appears to be sometimes just wild, uncontrolled use of instruments. I also like a female singer, but that applies to all music.
