Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users

This week's interview features the user Clamstuffer.

When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username Clamstuffer?

Clamstuffer:

"I have probably been aware of it for over a decade, but to me it was just another flash game site. Correction: it was a flash game site with "adult content" which was even better because I'm a total pervert.

I would check it out from time to time, usually just when it would come up on a Google search or something. I never had any real inclination to join. I think I just signed up randomly one day to make a single smart-ass comment on a single vid. I forgot about it for a while after that. Anyway, one day I was playing some silly game like "Kitten Cannon" on another website and I Googled highscores and found a thread about it on Newgrounds. Remembering I had Newgrounds account, I posted in this decade old thread and got banned on my first post.

Clamstuffer was just something that started as a stupid joke. I first used it as Clamstuffer5000 on Territory War Online. I had forgot the password to my first account, so I just made that name to see if I could get a laugh from a friend I was playing with online. After that I guess I just shortened it and started using for random things."

Do you think that you changed over the time you were here, as user, or also in real life?

Clamstuffer:

"Maybe. Possibly. Not really. Sort of. I used to be slightly more of an asshole on other message boards, but the people are pretty nice here so I have toned it down a little. I haven't really been here all that long enough to change too much."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Are there any other users that you like, and how do they affect you?

Clamstuffer:

"I pretty much like all the people that have been posting since the first few pages of the rap battle thread, even though I'm way better than them ;) Other than that... Stereocrisis, Satan, Neonspider I tend to relate to... Guys like Jester and Mandeep make me laugh sometimes... I'm probably forgetting some people... They affect me because I try really hard to impress them so they think I am cool! LOL, not really. I'm actually super lazy with what I post on this board compared to what I used to do on other message boards. Case in point: http://www.forumwarz.com/discussions/view/29921"

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Are there any users that you would consider enemies or that you just don't like?

Clamstuffer:

"Maybe a couple. I'm not going to mention names, because I don't want to give them recognition for that. They know who they are. If I think somebody is a douche I have no problem telling them because I'm clearly an online badass."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

What is your opinion about the forums? Is there one forum that you prefer? And is there another forum user that you want to see getting interviewed by me?

Clamstuffer:

"They're... sufficient I guess. I'm starting to like them more over time. Most forums kind of suck when you are new at least, and I haven't been here that long. I mostly just post in general unless I want to bitch about a certain game. I may check out the writing and audio stuff one day. I can't think of anyone that I really want to see interviewed, but like I said I haven't really been here all that long..."

I guess that you have an opinion about the moderators of Newgrounds. Do you think that they do a great job or not?

Clamstuffer:

"I honestly think they're among the best moderators I have seen anywhere. A lot of other sites the moderators either don't really do anything, or they prioritize the wrong things, or worst of all, they just end up being a bunch of power-abusing assholes who ban people for stupid reasons unless you kiss their ass.

I like how they lock duplicate threads and usually have good reasons for the other threads they lock; most other forums I have seen are terrible when it comes to knowing when to use that function."

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Would you like to become a moderator on Newgrounds? If so, what kind of moderator?

Clamstuffer:

"I don't really have any interest in that. Sounds like work without money if you ask me."

You were one of the kids that made a Lego song. Tell more about this story.

Clamstuffer:

"There's not a lot more to tell if you already read that story. It was right around 1990 maybe. My dad has always been kind of an amateur guitarist/songwriter and one day he just made up this song with the help of my little brother and I. It was maybe a couple years later we recorded it and we mailed it off to Lego with this crazy letter not really expecting anything. We told them they could have it for, "One of every Lego set ever made OR a million dollars OR 1000 lego buckets" stuff like that because we were kids and my dad just kind of wrote it out.

It was a long while before Lego responded. I think we kind of gave up on it by then and were pretty surprised. They said they wanted the rights to the song (even though I don't think they ever planned on really using it) and they said the three of us could each pick any one thing out of the catalog. Of course my dad didn't really care, so that left me and my brother to pick any three sets. I think we basically just went the three biggest and most expensive things: two electric train sets and the biggest Technic set which came with two electric motors and a controller. They published the song lyrics in a little article in their Lego magazine, changing any occurrence of the word "Legos" to "Lego sets" which made it sound really weird.

I think they just wanted to fill space in their magazine and encourage other people to submit stuff like that. I remember they started having actual contests in their magazine after that where you could win any Lego set from their catalog, but they limited it to $100 and under. We kind of laughed about that, like we were the reason they added the $100 stipulation because they didn't put a limit on ours so we got the most expensive things we could (the Technic set alone was over $200, which would probably be closer to $400 today)."

Many of your posts are dedicated to the Epic Rap Battles Of Ng Bbs History thread. When did you start writing rap lyrics? Which users of those thread make the best lyrics in your opinion?

Clamstuffer:

"I first started when they had this contest on the message board for Forumwarz. (If you click the audio submission on my profile I talk more about it there.) I never really did it before that. Of course everybody knows I have the best lyrics ;) but I guess if I had to pick someone besides myself... Kwing is probably the most consistently decent person on there. He's never beat me though. Phobotech beat me ONE time, so maybe him. Also honorable mention to CiviLies; I only remember him ever posting once but it was really good."

You watch the tv series The Walking Dead. Tell my readers what you like about this show.

Clamstuffer:

"I mean it's like the most popular show on cable isn't it? There's that. But I also been into the Zombie thing ever since the first Resident Evil games on PS1. Rented just about every obscure Zombie flick they had in stock at the video store (back when there were still video stores). The genre really blew up in the coming years though... did you know more than half of the zombie films ever made were made after September, 11 2001? It's an allegory, man: Zombies and terrorism, just like Godzilla and the atomic bomb."

Every person has secrets. Can you tell one of yours or something else that we didn't know about you yet?

Clamstuffer:

"I ran track in elementary school and won a gold medal even though I was a terrible athlete. At the county track meet somehow none of the other boys in my age group signed up for the 200 meter dash (50, 100, & 400 were all more popular I guess). I ran by myself in front of a stadium of people and won first place by default. That qualified me to run at the state meet where I came in dead last."

What can we expect from you in the future, Clamstuffer?

Clamstuffer:

"Probably not much of anything in the immediate future. I'm trying to work and go to college full time right now so it doesn't leave to much room for anything. Too bad I didn't join this site a few years ago when I was actually into making shit. Now I'm just kind of burnt out. You never know though, maybe I just need that one piece of inspiration that could strike at any time..."

I've been noticing the interview post you make often but, i never red any of them and now i think i should to read more and more often so yeah.
I don't want to say i might have things to say since it's not true but, i don't know if you ever run out of folks to interview you could ask me or something.

Thanks! I think intervieweing you in the future is possible :)

Why do you do these?

I have fun making them ^^

Hahha, is there an easy to see list of people you've interviewed somewhere? I could suggest someone sometime, but I don't feel like checking back with all of your old interviews to see if that has already happened :3

The first line "Asandir's interviews with Newgrounds forum users" is a link to a list of all my interviews, for convenience here it is again :)

Cool, I'll admit that he's an awesome rapper. He's outta my league indeed!

^_____^

Great, thanks for the list!
Congrats on 150 interviews! :3

Thank you <3

Cheers for the honorable mention. I posted a couple times in the Rap Battle thread but never thought they were noteworthy; just a way to kill time. Kwing on the other hand has serious skills. Clamstuffer's verses can be pretty funny, so I enjoy reading his.

Glad to hear that the regulars of the rap thread enjoy each others posts :)

That track meet story is fantastic.

Indeed ^^

I wouldn't call him an asshole, more of an idiot maybe.

And you found him ^^
