When did you find Newgrounds and why did you join? Why did you choose the username TailsPrower?

TailsPrower:

"Not to sound like a pompous oldfag, but NG and I go a ways back. My earliest memories of NG were from back when I was in 5th grade, about 10 years ago, when I would hang out with a bunch of other friends and watch Eskimo Bob and parody flashes (particularly the "Harry Potter meets DBZ" series and "Behind the Hero: Mario" comes to mind), laughing our asses off because even poop and cock jokes were funny back then haha! But even before then, I first learned about Newgrounds when my older cousin visited my home for some occasion that I can't recall, but I distinctly remember afterwards him telling me that "this is our site, keep it a secret" or something to that effect. Looking back, I image that he didn't want my parents to think that he opened some sort of Pandora's Box if they ever found out that I was frequenting a site that was known for morally and politically controversial stuff (but it's okay, they barely know how to use the internet lol). When I was 13, I finally cracked and made myself this account because I really wanted to enjoy Newgrounds as much as I could and be one of those awesome users who had super high exp. levels and shiny, colorful b/p badges. At the time, I was a really big fan of Miles "Tails Prower, Sonic's adorable two-tailed sidekick so it's not difficult to imagine why I chose TailsPrower as my alias. Fortunately for you and I, that part of me is long gone, never to return, but I still occasionally get crap for it. AND NO I WAS NEVER A FURFAG. Some decisions ya just gotta live with. I'd request a name change, and I'd probably get it too, but my alias grew on me and now means something far more to me than just some silly game reference. Plus it's pretty late for me to waffle over to some new name now that people have known me as Tails for so many years. And even then for the first few months following the creation of my account I only really used it for writing reviews and voting on submissions to elongate my e-penis. Hey, I was some dumb kid and that sort of stuff actually mattered to me."

Do you think that you changed over the time you were here, as user, or also in real life?

"I openly accept the fact that my time here on NG has actually helped form the person I am today, almost solely from my experience in the BBS. I've told this story before, but I'm sure lots of others share my experiences and can relate to what I'm about to say. You see, as a wee lad I was quite short tempered with people who I thought were trying to pick fun at me; I was a rather sensitive kid and my former childhood friends often exploited that for their own amusement. When I got settled into the social scene of the BBS, I found that it was no different. In fact, in a lot of ways it was worse! Putting up with trolls, day in and day out, driving me up the wall with their inane crap that, truth be told, made me rage pretty hard at my screen, lol. But dealing with that sort of stuff helped me build character. And for a while I always felt like I needed to achieve something great on NG for everyone to acknowledge me for. I think just about everyone around that age wants to be famous or get a lot of attention. Eventually I learned to just shrug my shoulders and chill whenever people are all in my face about whatever nonsense they're spewing at me. I became more laid back and learned to let things be, ya know? Though it is fun to put a few noob thugs in their place every now and then. The most personal growth I've experienced on Newgrounds can be attributed to my time in the NGPD, the crew I am currently running. Being the head honcho gave me a lot of opportunities to grow and learn too. If someone's stepping out of line, you make that known and nip it in the bud before it becomes a problem. Mods don't see things your my way? See the situation from both perspectives and suck up my pride if necessary. Tomorrow will mark my 6th year of being a part of the NGPD and through that time I learned how to be a mature and responsible NG'er.

Are there any other users that you like, and how do they affect you ?

"I've met quite a few people that I've grown fond of! People like... ah fuck who do I name first? Well, LimblessAvenger was my first real friend on NG and he and I still keep in touch once every blue moon. There's also PowerPrower (no relation except for the occasional office buttsecks), Lizzardis, Sheizenhammer, Kaizerwolf, pretty much all of the people I've gotten to know in the NGPD, Squidbit, Tateos, and I suppose by association the local Brony community too :3 I'm probably forgetting a bunch of people and I'll hate myself afterwards and my friends for not being memorable enough for me to list them here (I kid, I kid) but for now that should hold. People like them are really what makes my time here worthwhile. Folks who are fun, intelligent, and have cocks for me to play with. It's a real joy hanging out with people who have so many interesting things to share with you, whether it is lulzy banter, working as a crew, exploring deep and perilous caves for diamonds, or even personal struggles, it's real talk and so the friendships and connections I've forged here are significant to me."

Are there any users that you would consider enemies or that you just don't like?

TailsPrower:

"For a while I disliked Mal and Poozy because we rarely ever saw eye to eye on a lot of matters, often at my expense. But, again, this is a part of life in NG that gave me a chance to grow up a bit. There have been times where I just had to suck up my pride and come to realize that it all boils down to some guy on the internet who I will never meet and has no real impact on me. It's still annoying as hell to deal with but I always get over it in due time. Nowadays I'd like to believe that Mal and I are alright now that he and I have figured out how to work together and avoid future conflicts. As for Poozy, well I don't really have any comments on him. He does his thing, I'll do mine and hopefully we'll steer clear of each other. Though somewhere deep down I do look forward to the day when he either steps down or gets fired. Also I'll dance on his grave HA-CHA-CHAAAA!!!!"

I guess that you have an opinion about the moderators of Newgrounds. Do you think that they do a great job or not?

"Haha, ohhhhh I should really read all the questions before I answer them. Well, aside from the "joke moderators" like UltraBear, I'd say as a whole they do a pretty darn good job from keeping the BBS from turning into 4chan's (way more attractive) doppelganger or at the very least maintaining some form of civility around here. They have actually helped me a lot when dealing with spammers and trolls, especially in the NGPD so I appreciate the work that they do. Other times they can be a pain themselves, it's a give and take kind of thing. But hey, nothing's perfect so all things considered I can't complain."

Would you like to become a moderator on Newgrounds? If so, what kind of moderator?

"From one of my previous answers you can guess how I feel about being a BBS mod. I can safely eliminate icon, audio, and art mod since I'm hardly active in those parts of NG anyways. So as of right now, I definitely would not become a mod because I don't really have the vested interest or patience to effectively serve as one. HOWEVER, if Portal Mods are ever implemented, you bet your ass I'll go for that position. Yes, I admit I'm a lazy fuck getting b/p points, but when it comes to hunting down abusive submissions, few can contest my expertise. Plus my experience in the NGPD led me to develop a strong code of ethics and principles which I teach all my guys in the crew to abide by. Tenets like ALWAYS providing links to the originals when reporting stolen content, never telling anyone to whistle something, and always thinking independently when investigating abusive flashes rather than going off on someone else's opinion. I feel that a position like that would be right up my alley, and plus I know quite a few others who would be highly qualified for that position too so I'd be a great way for me to help Newgrounds and keep close ties with friends."

"Hell yeah, I'm always excited for the holidays! Forget all that commercialism and propaganda bullshit, there's no room for that noise to spoil my annual dose of happiness! Christmas is a special time for me to enjoy the cheer that only comes around once a year! Even on Newgrounds I love how they put on the holiday banner and how the Portal gets waves of awesome holiday submissions! My personal favorite is still "Little Orphan Boy" by Timmy...someGermansurname. But I'll be occupied hanging out with family and friends too. So to answer your question, yes!"

The redesign is rumored to happen within the next months, are you looking forward to it? What kind of changes do you want to see?

"The last redesign back in 06 or 07 (I keep forgetting) really fucked me over in terms of b/p badges. I was actually planning on retiring from the NGPD and joining the Barracks back then, but SURPRISE! Back to police sergeant for you, mr. tailsypoo! Anyways, I really haven't paid much attention at all to how this development is coming along, nor do I really care to tell you the truth. I've heard many rumors of when it was supposed to be released and others complaining about how it's taking so long and how it'll never happen. It really doesn't make a difference to me one way or another. The only thing I'm hoping is that it doesn't affect my badge or there might be some problems I'll have to deal with."

You seem to be a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Can you tell our readers how you became a fan and what you like about the show? Has being a brony affected your life?

"Saw this one coming hehe. Well, to all who care about ponies or just want to see my take on this, I became a Brony myself sometime around June, when curiosity drove me to check out a few episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I had seen a few images circulating about here and there, and noticed that more and more people were talking about it online. So I decided to check it out for myself and see what the big deal was. Suddenly I was immersed in a world of colorful and magical ponies who went on well animated and well written adventures with REAL life lessons! Plus I just love how diverse the mane 6 characters' personalities are; they all foils and, in some way or another, really help develop eachother's character. Plus the ponies are just so adorable, how could anyone not love them? But the list would end right there if it wasn't for the absolutely incredible and tremendous Brony community that made MLP into something far more than just a cartoon. There are some pretty damn good fan arts, music, and fanfics out there. If people can enjoy these things and be happy, then more power to them! It just really fun!"

You are a member of the Newgrounds Police Department, Please tell our readers about the history of this group, what the purpose of it is. Furthermore ,what are you doing for the group?

TailsPrower:

"I have already wrote and edited an effective summation of my crew's history in the Wikigrounds page. I believe it will explain it better than I can in any interview and it is in my words so hopefully you'll dig that. Yeah, laziness taking over lol. But I will tell y'all about what we're about. The Newgrounds Police Department is a crew that exists to help Newgrounds through the Flash Portal and its members. Our job is to crack down on abusive submissions which are most commonly thefts - people submitting works that are not theirs. Malicious and highly inappropriate flashes are also subject to being reported. At the same time, we also work to help our members become well versed in defending the Portal and being mature and honest NG'ers so that they may make positive influences on their own outside of the NGPD. Through these goals, there have been many NG'ers become superb servicemen/women of the Portal and together we have brought many abusive submissions under administrative review. I've been with the crew since the first week it was created six years ago and I've been in a leadership role for about 5 of them. I've taught many of my men how to properly report an abusive submission so that no innocent flashes get flagged or no mass voting/flagging occurs. Enforcing club and BBS rules within my crew is also a constant task in order to maintain peace and order in the thread. Also I am responsible for releasing weekly performance summaries called Rosters every Sunday, but I do a pretty half-assed job of that too lol. It's become a running gag around the crew that my appearance on the top 5 b/p gain list is a mythical event. Oh those silly spooty heads."

I can remember that you were once a scouted artist. Do you know why you got unscouted? Are you planning to release more art in the future?

"Ya know, I really don't know what's up with that to be honest lol. Back then, I was really eager to get scouted since that meant I was a certified artist of NG. I guess some hacked art mod or my lack of activity must've resulted in me having my scouted status revoked. It surely can't be because my art is not good enough for me to be scouted....right? D: It really doesn't matter to me one way or another, as long as people can see (and hopefully enjoy) my work then that will suffice. The only thing that stands in the way between me and successfully completing a drawing is the lack of inspiration or ideas. Plus being an artist is perhaps the one thing that can rival my laziness in b/p'ing. But I do enjoy it a hell of a lot when I can get an idea off the ground and onto paper. My best forecast is probably a solid chance of additional pony drawings and more military themed stuff. You know... the usual."

What can we expect from you in the future, TailsPrower?

"Please, call me Tails, dear ;) Let's see... well college has been taking up a lot of my time these past months but hopefully I'll at least be able to continue what I've been doing. I'll always have a place for NG. Things have been going rather slowly around the crew as well, but I'm still keeping an eye on things from afar. And like I mentioned earlier about the Portal Mod thing, if that ever becomes a reality then I'll definitely be running for a spot there and help NG directly. While I have responsibilities here on NG, I always love to have fun and lulz with the locals, granted they're not doing something stupid like making troll threads or hatin' on each other or posting furry porn. But in the end, I can't say for sure what I'll be up to in the future, I've always lived my NG life in the present and I've never looked back since :) "
